Any reason why a 730 was chosen over the 1030, 1030 is not much more? ports are an issue I guess as its HDMI but converters are easily added

Only thing I can think of is to check what windows is using as your default sound output, it maybe you hear them with media player because its associated with the right output

I would have to ask why you are using wideview? P3d supports viewgroups which removes the need for wideview or you can simply use nvidia surround if you have a modern SVGA card?
