Is the FDS-IBL-DIST-DIM intended for the backlight with LED's or small bulbs? How many amperes FDS-IBL-DIST-DIM will support?

You can use both, since it's DC current. The IBL panels uses real aircraft bulbs (not LED's). The maximum number of panels are 14 per distribution board. Don't know how many amps, but the fuse SEEMS to be 10 A. This needs to be confirmed by FDS though.

The IBL panels uses 5 VDC. So it would be 10A at 5V. Again, this needs to be confirmed by FDS.

As per Steve:

FDS-IBL-DIST-DIM and FDS-IBL-DIST-EXP

They are made for 10 amps based on the load. It has a 10 amp fuse.

I suggest using the 14 connectors and if you need more you add the EXP board. Never double up panels.

Typically B737 setup here uses:

1 DIST for Captain side MIP   (Includes Glare and Map light panel and MCP)
1 DIST for F/O Side MIP                 (Includes Glare and Map light panel)

1DIST for Pedestal
1 EXP for Pedestal (Includes Throttle backlighting)

1DIST for Main OH
1 EXP for AFT OH

10 A at 11 panels in the Overhead could be scarce if each panel has approximately 1 A. I'm going to measure how much A they need.
Anyway, this is a good solution, I've been looking for.

Stefan,
This is why there is the EXP item. That connects to the DIM card and both cards can be controlled by the one pot... The load is spread across the two boards.

Hi PC,

Any chance for retro fitting the previous line of IBL Dist. cards with a solution for dimming. I'd prefer it be an FDS solution rather than something I'd just throw together for dimming...

The new IBL DIST DIM boards have the dimmer as part of the board (same for the EXP) and use the same mounting holes as the last version (blue PC Board) so easily changed. The original green ones will be a different mounting.

Hope this helps,

Maybe a dumb question.

But is there anywhere a datasheet available for the fuse?
I've accidently shortcutted in the wires and the fuse has blown.
I've placed a new one and all is back up and running.

Now I don't have a spare one anymore. The local shop asked for the characteristics and so on....

brand, model, ... will also help me...

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks! Wink

The fuses are from http://www.belfuse.com/

SSQ1 1 amp (LED Strip lighting)

SSQ3 3 amp (12V Map lights etc)

SSQ10 10 amp for IBL DIM/EXP boards

Digi-Key is a supplier and we can supply as well.
