Hi,

A quick question regarding power supplies for the MCP and CDU's. As supplied they come with individual 12V adapters. Behind my MIP I also have a 12V Bus Bar supplied by a 20A rated 12V transformer which is supplying the LED Strips and the Autothrottle solenoid on the MCP.

I am considering powering the MCP and CDU normal 12V feeds from my Bus Bar rather than the individual switched power supplies.

There is plenty of headroom in the bus bar, so I can't see any problem with this, but I just wanted to check that this seems sensible before I start cutting wires...

Regards

Simon

Most of my modules are powered from the PSU

Just make sure you identify correctly the + and - wires beforehand
I always doublecheck with a multimeter as the markings on the wires may differ.

That will work, follow what Jack has suggested.

Positive is the center pin on the plug.

Will it be ok to take 12v from an PSU and connect to the interface cards too?Instead of using the adapters that come with interfacecard (FDS Sys cards) You have one slot for 3 wires beside connector of the adapters.
From left=12V positive
Center=No wire
Right=Ground (Common)
Can someone please confirm on this.
