Since I am building a 737NG, I have wondered as well which 737 I would use in FS9. I have read quite a few posts regarding the use of the PMDG 737 together with PM. My question is to the folks who are using this setup:

If you have to remove all of the PMDG panels for it to work with PM, is just using the flight model worth it? Is there that big of a benefit?

Im on a roll this morning with posts. Sorry guys!

Anyhow, regarding the PMDG 737NG. I have heard that this a/c (which I do have, and have flown many hours on in FS) is very hard on the 'old CPU. Is there another nice looks 737NG that would be better suited for us building and using our projects with in conjunction with PM software? Since we are stripping the modeling of the systems and panel and AP, then why not if the other models available look just as good?

its not about looks....when i talk about flightmodel i mean the physical flightmodel....i.e how the plane is acting aerodynamically.....

and theres no better one as the PMDG yet.......

The PMDG behaves much more realistic as any other plane.....

i dont care about the looks....i sit in the airplane....not driving my car standing on the trunk either Wink

Stef,

I agree about what you just said, but 2 points here:

1) There are some that believe there are better flight models that the PMDG. I havent tried any other so I cant say that personally, but I guess it's possible. Supposedly PM has a 'better' flight model but again, I dont know.

2) I dont fly from the outside either, but at my Instructor station, I do plan to have it able to view the aircraft externally during all phases of flight. This means I would like to have a nice looking external model. For me this is a big thing since I hope and plan to have it set up with the ability for visitors to watch from the instructor station area while the a/c is being flown, they can see what's going on inside and out.

Overal, I just would like to use the PMDG aircraft w/out the panel or other systems and use all PM software such as PMSystems.
