Hi all 767 builders.

I have good news for every one that build the B767 with Level-D software. The problem has been the possibility to build I dual version with Level-D on one computer. But with todays powerful hardware the problem is solved. The past days I have made some test with a new computer, and the result is promising.

I'm using one of the new AMD CPU "AMD FX" with quad-core. I also use the Triplehead2Go for the instrument view for Capt, Center and FO. The GFX card has two DVI ports so the projector will take the first one and the TH2GO the second. You also have to make some modification in the Level-D .cfg file.

I will update when I have done some more test.

This is great news KH.... Thank you for posting...
Please update as you progress as quite a few B767 Builders would love to hear more about this.
When you have some pictures please post!!!
We are working on the B767 MAIN IBL panels this week. First set should be done by the end of the week. The MIP is next. Design done and now production. So many parts..
Sounds like you have some serious progress.. With Niko K's software.. Ran's CDU EXE (We can post that shortly)... The B767 is becoming viable as a serious project..

Thanks Kristoffer for the info.

My mobo is Asus WS64pro which has no less than 4 pciE x16 slots = 4 GFX cards (and a Nuce power plant next to it Razz).

What I thougt of doing was, using one power (8800GT\GTS etc) GFX card for one Projector for ext view.
second card (8800 GS) driving T2G for the MIP displays.
Thired (7950GT) will drive the CDU displays (might use spliter for the video to display on FO cdu as well).

KH Don't split your main GFX card btw T2G and the ext view.
Your FR will drope like a rock.
Even though you're using the T2G for 2D, it will take lots of power from
your GFX card, specialy when the other head is used for 3D.
Better split to 2 GFX (if possible), one utilized for 3D the other for
T2G.

Ran.

Hi Kristoffer.

I was planning on doing that exact same thing! Looks like you beat me to it. I am using 15.4" widescreen TFTs for the 3 screens. This should be small enough to allow me to fit guages around the screens.

Keep us informed.

Tom, why 15" ? I think they are too small.
In the ELAL setup we used 19" screans and with modified
panel.cfg changed the size of gauges to fit in to the screan,
and on my setup, when PC and team will finish the work
on the MIP, I think they should fit in better.

I had better explain.

Im only using the CRT guages of the level-d in my sim so only need the monitors to cover the CRT bits of the panel. For the analogue guages I am making my own (costly and time consuming, yet rewarding) guages that are driven by steppers and servos.
I think that 15.4" Wide (16:9??) in portrait fits the CRTs almost perfectly (its a little large, but it sits behind so it wont be seen anyway!).

The guages are driven by a well known hardware interface (cant say which here) and at the moment my prototype airspeed indicator works fine. I now have to elaborate it so that it has barber pole and FMC/MCP speed bug! Then an altimeter, vor/dme indicator, virtical speed, clock (duplicate all of those for F/O) and then standbys. Its a lot!

Here is a quick look at the first Set as we ran them and fired up the IBL.you can see the "knob backlighting" is in place. We do some small tweaks on these panels and they are set.
MIP is next.

Oh my dear God, rest my beating heart!

They are amazing. Excellent quality. I cant wait!

Peter, you have done it again.

All this reminds me how the 767 panel looks compared to the more sparse modern panels that Boeing make now. It harks back to an era when CRT and automatic systems where in there infancy.

My cash is ready.

Tom.
