Hi all,

I've some questions regarding the 747 MCOMM and ACP:

MCOMM has 7 segment displays as mentioned on website. So that means, the text "DATA" or "SEL" cannot be displayed. How are the fellow 747 builders out there dealing with that problem?

Do all LEDS above VHF 1, 2 etc. and above the Active and Standby switch light up?

ACP
I found, that the Volume control knobs have pots with on/off. Can they be pushed as well to make them active (indicated by green LED)?

The black rectangle "MIC" switches: I know it says "realistic representation". So they have the engraved "MIC" with back lightning and can be pushed. Is that correct?

Thanks for answering all my questions!

BR from Vienna
Hans

M/COMM:

In Sim-A Mark added the VHF C button to show data and 136.850 when selected. I can send you a picture.

But the API would allow Developers to make those changes. Just not with a capital "D" it would be an "O". The LED's do light up when selected (As per Avionics software)Key back lighting on all 8 keys. the HF knob is "realistic representation". Even the LED above the Transfer key lights up.

ACP:

Only turning the knob does ON/OFF and the pot could be wired if software permits. Sorry no push.

All push buttons are engraved and "realistic representation" but not backlight or connected to switches.

Pot switches would need to be wired to our SYS card and assigned in software.

In Sim-A we assign them to the Morse Code Identifiers that run in the Sim-A Sound Module.

ACP's are on our list in the future, getting all the software suites to work with them will be the challenge. That and the amount of functionality people would want. A complete Audio system controlled by the ACP is very complex and would be limited by software available to run them.

Hello,

thanks for your infos, Steve!
Clever idea with the M/COMM ..thx for the pic!

ACP:
could it be possible for the user (me) to add some pushbottons / LEDs more or less easily to the Panel, or is it a huge risk damage it?

As I am running PSX I'm trying to cover the most important features!

Thx and have a great weekend
Hans

The buttons are set into the panel. The backer has no holes. Major operation.

Biggest issue with the ACP is available software and functionality.

With PSX we know that Hardy has brought a lot to this software and a lot is possible. Now comes the challenge of finding switches and LED's to do all this and keep it affordable. We could go down that road but price things to the point that nobody could afford them or we are competing with the real parts supplier.
