I have just moved to a multi-channel setup for my cockpit using three 70" 4K tv's driven by three separate PC's.

Because of the current lack of capability to sync weather between views with Active Sky 16 I have moved over to FS Global Real Weather which can. (I am still using Active Sky Cloud Art).

My question is whether there is a way to get the weather information from FSGRW to appear on the PFD weather radar in a similar way that I can do from AS16?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

David

To my knowledge this is not possible, at least not directly from FSGRW.

It would be great if this could be accomplished though for FSGRW users.

FSGRW communicates very efficiently via a network bridge. Could such be utilized within the SimA scheme of things?

Mark...could that be possible?

The internal Sim-A wxr radar will work with any weather engine, as it generates an image based on the current sky conditions.
So it will work with default FS weather or FSGW

Active Sky can output their own radar data enabling this image to be more accurate.

As far as I can tell, currently FSGW don't output their radar data.

Mark, how do I get this to work with FSGW. I was using AC16 so I may need to revert some settings to get Sim-A internal weather radar working.

Thanks

In version 1.70 you can set the wxr radar mode 'live' on the aircraft details 2 tab.
Set it to Internal radar and save the aircraft details.

Tried that mark, but no radar.

Is there anything I need to undo from using Active Sky as weather radar?

Thanks

Once you switch to internal wxr radar it will ignore anything AcitveSky.
Remember you will need to switch on the Wxr radar using the WXR button on the EFIS Panel.
Also you'll need to be at a flight level where your weather program has injected some weather.

Did you set 'internal wxr radar' and SAVE the aircraft.
If you didn't save the changes they would revert back when the Server is next started.

David

Check what the Radar Tilt Angle is doing, displayed on ND.
I'm using ASN and activated it like Mark said above in Server settings dropdown menu.

I found that the angle stays at same setting +2.5 throughout the flight where as in prior versions it used to change 0.0 in Cruise, -2.5 on Descent and +2.5 on Climb automatically.

I have been getting WX Radar returns though.

Cheers
Michael

Hi Michael,

I see the same +2 tilt angle but no returns. I was seeing returns when using AS16.

I no that FSGRW requires all the cloud / weather settings to be of in FSUIPC so I wonder if that's the problem.

Thanks

David.

Can you close FSGRW, and just try with FS.

Choose a some rain/stormy weather.
Does the wxr radar work then ?

I did as you suggested Mark and it still did not work, then I remembered that I had assigned one of my weather radar panels dials for wx radar gain and once I turned it up from zero I had weather radar - ops 😳

So I will put that one down to user error. Just need to confirm that I now have weather radar with FSGRW which I am sure I will.

Still hoping that soon Active sky will release a multichannel version with synced weather across all computers like FSGRW. Also hoping that one day I will be able to use the other functions on the Wx panel.
