In the last month I've had a intermittent Avionics Frame Rate problem where the PFD/ND & EICAS frame rates (key F) get so low that my A/P disconnects. I've eliminated the GT610 #1 video card in my Avionics Computer by replacing with a GT 730. Nothing in GPU-Z indicates a problem when the PFD / ND / EICAS display frame rates drop down below 10 fps. The S.A. Server shows Flt Data Loop of 50ms (16FPS). The A/P Rate is 10 FPS.15

The PFD/ND/EICAS FRAMES= 16, 18, 11 is common rates but go lower. It seems like the Plane is talking very slowly thru FSUIPC to Sim A.

I've run out of troubleshooting ideas. Any help would be welcome.

Hi Pat

Try not displaying the Weather Radar and see if that improves the frame rates.

Mike
Thanks for the quick reply. WX Radar On/Off has no effect.
The Displays are working great now but at low frame rates.
My SA Server is using UDP Protocol,
FSUIPC Interface
x Use Input Offsets
x Use Output Offsets
x Process Switch Update on Offset Change Only
Simulator Inputs
x MS Flight Simulator
x Auto Reconect
x Retry Every 15 sec

Very random, sometimes hours or days but then regular Avionics display "jerking" and unable to control plane.

Looks like two separate problems resolved. The low Sim Avionics frame rates have been resolved by upgrading to GT730 video cards. Now all my MIP Rates stay above >40fps. The GT730 has dual DVI-I outputs for vga monitors.
My second problem which was random or slow MIP Sim Avionics Display indications which I thought was caused by the video card frame rate ended up being fixed by reinstalling the Sim-Avionics B737.cfg. I must of really screwed up the setting bad.

Hi Pat,

As you know through our phone conversions, I have frame rates in the teens with late call outs with the 610s. I just ordered three EVGA 730's with 4GB and three dongles.

I'll let you know my results, but I'm expecting the same jump in performance. I can see the hit the 610s take when I add additional items to the ND.

After rearranging my MIP vga’s with GT730 video cards to:

Card 1-1 CO PFD/ND
Card 1-2 CO CDU

Card 2-1 EICAS
Card 2-2 MFD

Card 3-1 FO PFD/ND
Card 3-2 FO CDU

The consistent frame rates are >55fps on all MIP displays (key f). My call outs @ 80kts, V1 are now very close to the Speedtape indications. The GPU-z Load has been reduced to acceptable readings.
It would be good to know if anyone else had my MIP Video experience?
I guess I can sell my GT610’s on e-Bay.

I had something like this with my system a quite while back. It was resolved by messing with colour depth. The post was Tue Jun 07, 2016 9:25 pm Post subject: Numerals displaying poorly on ND (Resolved)

Hi,

I'm in aero mode already, I tried changing from 32 to 16 bit. No change in performance.

On occasions my PFD/ND gets a little slow, so like you guys I have just ordered three GT 730 4gb 128bit cards. Shall see what improvement they bring.

Hi,

I installed three 730's today and the improvement over the 610's is very noticeable.

Mike
Happy to hear an improvement with the GT730 cards. Rearranging the PFD/ND & CDU for both CO & FO sides on cards 1&3 has balanced my framerates considerably. Also the 2nd middle GT730 card that has EICAS/MFD is the least stressed card. Almost all the time frame rates stay at >50fps.
But I’m still investigating why the #1 GT730 w/ CO PFD/ND & CDU frame rates vary compared to the FO side. It’s weird, but if I reload the default P3D Sceneary plane and location, WaLa the problem goes away. Strange. Maybe I’ll try moving Windows over to the FO Side.
Anyway I convinced that the GT7370 video cards are a reasonable upgrade in price vs performance.

Hi Pat,

Like you I'm having a strange issues with frame rates with not much usage on the cards two and three. But I agree, the price benefit comparison for the 730's over the 610's are a good buy.

I actually had the Captain's PDF/ND at 60fps, I can easily see an improvement (smoother gauge movement) in performance.

Still messing with the other two video boards, I'll keep you posed on my progress.

Any reason why a 730 was chosen over the 1030, 1030 is not much more? ports are an issue I guess as its HDMI but converters are easily added

Also why upgrade all? Wouldnt just the PFD/ND card have been enough?

Considering also, my 610s are noticably bad with the wx radar on, otherwise they are fine but I run a very stripped down win10

cheers
