Does anyone know where the 737 virtual cockpit bmp is (are) located.
There is a texture file in the panel.cfg but no mention of a bmp.file.
I'm asking because the virtual cockpit view panning can be set on an axix, which is handy, but I would like to remove the cockpit windows framing and glareshield image. Question Question

Frans
I know that hitting twice W gives full screen, this was not my question.
When in virtual cockpit mode you can map the Z axis to pan left and right with the joystick. If you go WW you get the same view but the PANNING does not work.
So where is the darn virtual cockpit bitmap so that I can kill it and be able to pan as I wish to get the exact angle I want to join perfectly the undocked left/center/right outside views. Cannot find it anywhere, anybody knows?

Oh ok sorry....

What about the folder panel and texture in the aircraft folder? I see there BMP files of the flightdeck.

Other option maybe could be to use that gauge prog and load your aircraft into it and delete the bmp's and save it so the screen show no more a flightdeck...

(didnt know you wouldnt had no more a pan view when you do W W i thought that still worked.. )

I think he meant the virtual cockpit frans. The vc is built into the model and cannot be taken out unless the author has created on without a vc.

That is unfortunately what I suspected, the VC textures are removable but could not find any BMPs
Thanks Frans for your time, I'll find another way to adjust my views angle.
Have a great Week End

Could be wrong...

Just tested it here if i am in Virtual and hold shift+ arrow left/right i get to see the left or right view this also works without probs if you do 2 x WW...

Unless you use some kind of special airplane.. but the basic one in FS works fine here....

FRANS

I use basic FS9, Yes you are right BUT what I want is getting rid of the virtual cockpit itself...I mean the windshield post, the Instrument panel and all that ugly garbage. and just get the outside view.
Yes I can get the outside view unobstructed by doubble W but in this case the axis panning, which works in virtual cockpit, does not work anymore;
See my huge Wink Wink problem now?

Hey Jack,

The virtual cockpit is part of the .MDL, which is the 3D model for the aircraft you are flying. Unless you talk to the person/company that made the aircraft and has them remove it, or edit the .MDL with a hex editor.

The latter is not hard to do, see this. Let me know if it worked.

Best regards,
