For a while it has been said on this forum that...realism was attainable with all sliders to the right....PMDG was this and that....Dreamfleet...etc etc
I'm talking 737 here ( sorry Bus Guys)
So get to your keyboard and rate the best flight model available for FS9!!!!!

I still fly with the default 737 (which is not that bad) but lwould ike to upgrade.. for what???? help me (and all of us) with your 2 cents!!

I prefer the KittyHawk 737-300 with winglets, Air Berlin model. kittyhawk737_airberlin.zip @ Avsim. There are a couple of small items that irk me, like exterior lights (landing light needs to be on for the Logo lights to work), but I'm going to live with that. Has the default 734 panel, but who needs a panel, when you build one from FDS!

PMDG seems an obvious choice, by the way I was referring to the flight model only, I never look at the airplane itself, just good flight behaviour...

Hi Rod
Tried the Kittyhawk 800......pretty good, ...anyway ..better than default...I never look at the airplane but I must admit their textures are amazing!!!!

Speaking of which...they have a repaint section and I would like to play with it.....CANNOT open the bitmaps..."drawing failed" everytime???

Anyone help!!!
Cheers

Jack,
You're right. they won't open with a conventional paint program. Use imagetool.exe ((FS2000_Scenery_SDK.EXE / 953 kb)http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2000_devdesk_sdk.asp) and convert them to targa first. I've been painting that way for quite some time. Let me know if you need some help.

Hey Jack,

Rod is right. The reason for the bitmaps not opening in Paint is because they are not your standard BMP format. These are DXT bitmaps, which contain an alpha channel for transparency.

Using this tool will allow you to open them, save as normal bitmaps, edit them in your favorite program, then import them back and convert them to the original format.

If you need help, let me know.

Best regards,

Jack,
flightsim.com has kh737pk.zip which is a better paint kit, even a dirty one in .psd format.
