Hi all,
its been almost a year since I received my 777 Jetmax SKTQ.
The initial assembly was quick and relatively easy, the SKTQ was flying in after approximately two days.
Thats a pic of the first flight... _________________ Simon Schneider

So after almost a year of preparation and upgrading the Sim was moved from my workshop to the Sim room in our apartment.
Some pics of the Base Set up.
The Cutouts are done to accommodate the ACE Yoke baseplate and cables was well as the adjust the height difference of the 767 Pedestal Box.

The Seats are old retired Gulfstream GII Seats. I had them re-upholstered and I stripped the paint and re-painted them.
The Seatrails are homemade as they have different dimensions as the Boeing Rails.

The Side Console is homemade as well as the Tiller.

Thanks Jack,
The Aluminum Barrel travels up the brass bars as the tiller turns. I have added a set of springs to help gravity push the barrel down to center the Tiller Handle, seen in the lower pic. There is a detent to hold the handle in center position. On the lower base plate there is a standard potentiometer connected to a LEO Bodnar card. The return to center force can be adjusted with the spring tension. Its not perfect right now and I have some ideas to improve the design, but for now it is very rigid and functional. I will try to upload a video at a later stage.
Best regards

A pic of the finished side console.
The switches on the LH side are used to control the P3D Views. The Panel for the Display and IBL/Light dimming is pending too and was just blank at that time.
The Tiller Handle will have to be repainted to match the color of the Yoke.

Marco,
Unfortunately there are no plans. All was done based on the IPAD size and the space I had available on my platform. I based the design as closed to the original as possible and I used a lot of pictures (not only from the FDS site) to make it look more ore less accurate. All angles are made to fit and I guess if I ever had to do a second one it would look slightly different. I am not one of the builders which look for 100% Boeing accuracy, so I had some wiggle room for my dimensions.
However, I can take some of the dimensions and post them if you like.
Let me know.
Best regards

I am using a ACE 777 Yoke and over time I noticed that it developed some play in the lower Hinge Point and it made some grinding and jerky noise when moved in both axes.
Therefore I decided to disassemble the Yoke Base and see if I could improve the design of the mechanism.
Disassembly
There is a single aluminum axle going trough the entire Yoke which was wearing out quickly and I decided to manufacture some hat bushings to get rid of the play in all directions.
New brass bushings and a matching brass pin.
Base assembly
The Yoke now works like a charm and its feels a lot more rigid in all axes. I greased the spring attachments for the aileron axes inside too, which took care of the noise when moving it. _________________ Simon Schneider

Remote PC Panel.
I was getting tired of climbing out of my seat in order to plug or unplug USB devices for dataloading etc as well as starting and restarting my two PCs. So I came up with a simple Panel to remotely Start and Reset my PC from the cockpit. Again this is a non Boeing Solution, but it enhances my capabilites from my Seat a lot.
For Starting any of the PCs simply Hit the Start button. In order to reset the PCs Hold the Master Reset and the press the Reset switch for the PC you want to restart. This is to prevent inadvertent resetting of the PC if someone hits a reset button while flying or using the PCs.
Initially I installed it in the Pedestal, but moved it up to the FO CDU Spot later.
Wiring Diagram
I used standard 3.6mm Audiocables which enable me to use as many extensions as required. I installed a 3.6mm receptacle in both PC cases and spliced the wiring in the Frontpanel wiring. Like this I can either use the Frontpanel or the Remotepanel to start or reset PCs. The USB connectors are connected to USB Hub connected to the respective PC.
All in all a a very simple way of controlling PCs without any software. _________________ Simon Schneider

Center Pedestal.
The Pedestal Box is from a retired Boeing 767. It is shorter than the 777 box, but fits my space nicely. I have repainted it to match the rest of the Components.
Repaint
Testfit of the additional FDS Panels and the homemade blanks
Paint of the blanking Plates
Final assembly
The FDS IO Card is inside the pedstal box as well as three powered USB Hub to connect the various devices.
The Panel on the right is used to control ATC and various P3D Functions. Its connected to a Leo Bodnar BBI Card.
The Pot on the FWD RH Panel is used to control the Pedestal Panels IBL Backlighting. _________________ Simon Schneider

Chronometer
I have purchased a FI Chronometer as I like to time my Holds etc. The FI Chrono does not fit the MIP Cutout but fellow builder WinstonC (David) was kind enough to print a replacement backplate on his 3D Printer.
Thanks a lot David!
I received it and it was quickly installed on my Chrono. Note that you will have to disassemble the Chrono and this will void your warranty if you decide to do so.
Chrono installed
I am planning to paint the Side of the Chrono to eliminate the Light Bleed when the backlighting is on. _________________ Simon Schneider
