FDS Weather Radar integration with Aerowinx PSX

Post by Jon Boe »

We recently completed a Java software package that interfaces with the Aerowinx Precision Simulator 10 (PSX) simulator to enable linked toe brakes, tillers and if the user is not using a linked set of yokes it links those too. It also provides for display dimming of PFD/ND displays for the captain and first officer as well as the upper and lower EICAS. Finally, it also brings the FDS WXR Radar panel to life as shown in the following video:

Hardly a production version but it shows what's happening.

Cheers,

Jon

Awesome Jon, with this new software package, will it also send the signal to a FDS or Phidgets relay card to power a pull solenoid for when the park brake is set and both toe brakes are pushed to release the brakes?

Thanks
Gary

Sorry but no. THe program reads joystick controllers like the FDS-FC-1 and has a series of preconfigured assignments for the axes and buttons associated with the the weather radar panel and the yoke buttons (PTT, Stab trim and AP Disc) as well as dimming the displays and adjusting landing pressure setting and fuel to remain when jettisoning Jet-A.

The user guide and software is available here:

Thanks Jon for the download link. This definitely is a nice step fwd for those of us that don't have a real flight deck.

On the topic of solenoids, is there any future plan to develop an interface for the stick shakers, fire handles, start switches and solenoids in general?

Thanks
Gary

Gary Oliver's PSXinterfaceIT does most of this now.
