I get the same yaw damper light problem since upgrading to P3Dv4.1

Will look into everyone’s recommendations to fix and report back.

Regarding the Gear Lever...
Have you tried Cycling the Gear UP/DOWN then re-saving the default flight ?

It sounds like the gear is selected UP in FS when it loads.

Hi Mark

I have tried cycling gear in FS without Sim Avionics on and saving the scenario

I have tried cycling the gear with FS and Sim Avionics connected and saving the scenario

I have tried saving a NEW scenario and I still get the same thing.
Gear lights got to transit and up straight after positive rate.

Only happens on first takeoff and if I cycle the gear lever before TO it doesnt happen.

Im out of ideas

Today I will try to take off without Sim Avionics connected and see if gear goes up by its self

Hi Steve

Landing Gear Assigned in Sysboard Controller for UP and Down.
Seems to reflect correctly in Server indications.

Gear Up is switch 8 on
Gear Down is switch 7 on

Gear OFF is switch 8 and 7 off

Gear External is selected in Sim A Server

It all seems to work fine Steve, it's just the initial alignment that has me stumped, I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong but don't know what it is.

This sounds very similar to the Fit A and B switch problem I have on my aft overhead where they initial position is off even though they are not and require me moving them to off and on again so that the yaw damper will go on.

I was able to overcome having to cycle PACKS from OFF to AUTO and back to OFF to get the switches in sync by NOT running the SA 1.80 JetMax Launcher. Whenever I'd run the JETMAX Startup BAT file instead, PACK switches were (as expected) in the OFF position upon initialization. I made several runs at this using the Overhead Panel for confirmation.


Below is my BAT file for review:

Worth noting that I applied the Controller Input SBY RUD/OFF/ON reassignment fix from http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6243&highlight=
before I started using the BAT file for startup. David, I be curious as to whether or not the issue goes away by using the BAT file load and just leaving the fix above out (therefore keeping input assignments in the expected configuration).

One additional thought, using the BAT file, the Controller loads and finishes its initialization sequence (at least visually to me) BEFORE the Server loads.

Brad, I can confirm that the issue goes away when using the startup batch file instead of the the Launcher. I ran twice with the .BAT with no need to cycle the Flt A and B switches, I then ran with the Avionics launcher and I needed to cycle the Flt switches to get the Yaw damper to go on.

So it does seem to be a timing issue.

Nice work David, thanks for the assist! Only issue outstanding for me now on 1.80 is the Yaw Damper Rudder deflections issue being worked. All else seems to be working well.

Updated to 1.83 yesterday, flew one full flight with Yaw Damper on, no strange behavior noted. Will fly some more this weekend and report back.
