Hello

I have been looking at some YouTube videos of Engine starts on 737NG
The timing seems to go a little like this.

From Engine Starter Switch to Ground
12 Seconds to 25%N2 - (Fuel lever to Idle)
40 Seconds to 56%N2 - (Starter cut out)
45 Seconds to Engine Stable - (EGT red line extinguish)

On my Sim - first two stages are perfect but the Engine Stable seems to take like 75 seconds (till the EGT Red Line extinguishes)

Any one know what adjustments can be make to get the red line a bit more realistic.

Question - anyone agree or disagree with above observations regarding engine start timings?

Cheers
Michael

Provided simA is reading the airfile variables for this, you need to edit the airfile and navigate to 540 (REC) Engine EGT

There are 2 values you can alter

1) EGT temp limit, this is in D rankine and is the max EGT
2) rate of change

Play with the rate of change until you get a number which fits all

The sim EGT is hard coded in terms of min/max averages, so to get a good compromise do not set max EGT too high as this will push the idle EGT up

Hey
Thanks for info.
Air file, that one is somewhat beyond me so I might not mess with it.

Cheers
Michael

Aircraft Detail

Engine Details Tab provides some settings as well.

I will also mention that engines are all different and they likely start with different values. None are exactly the same.
