Sim-avionics for the 737NG

Post by frazer »

Hi everyone!

I guess this is the place to put questions about the Sim-A software as well, now that it's included into the FDS product line?

I've downloaded the software, to compare it to Project Magenta. The problem is that I can't find any instructions or logic way to switch from 777 glass cockpit to the 737NG-version.

I've selected the PMDG 737NG-preset aircraft config file, but that doesn't change anything. Couldn't find anything in the config files either that could change the look of the GC.

It looks just like the picture on the FDS site:
http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/_ass ... -large.jpg
Which I guess is the 777 version of the glass cockpit.

Can anyone tell me how to switch to the 737NG-version?

Thanks!

Hi Frazer,

In the "Aircraft Detail" tab you can select between 777 and 737...

Make sure you hit "Reconnect FS" and "Quick Start"...on Main page.

Enjoy your experiments :)

Tried it, but suprisingly it doesn't look right.

My control panel doesn't look like yours, and even after changing the aircraft type a bit more down on the page, I get the 777 PFD display.

Hi Frazer,

Its definitely running in 737 mode.

Couple of things...
All airlines have slightly different variances in avionics.
Just beacuase you're used to something(PM), doesn't make it "right"

I can see on your server tab that you also have a very old version.
You should download and use the newest version available.

Our Link on the Sim-A info page is correct.
You need to select the "New Release 1.14 available" link above the one you selected. (This number will obviously change over time).

Tried to download the latest version (1.14) on that URL. It points to:
http://www.sim-avionics.com/downloads/S ... 201.14.exe

But I get a 404 Not Found error on this URL :(
