Hello

I sent topcat information on aircraft.cfg and entered zfw and all information on cdu. Activate and execute but i could use only lnav, not vnav.

After looking for what's going on, i found on perf the following information :
Accept, reset?. I did it and suddenly, i retrieve vnav but it changed the zfw.

Is it a new process, we can't fill topcat information with payload?.

Many thanks

ZFW constatation:

When setting no payload at all in the Sim-Avionics 737 (in P3D aircraft options) to perform Touch & Go, this give a ZFW of 41413 kgs, which is normal. Once in the CDU, in the LOAD PAYLOAD page the ZFW is 41.4 KGS and the PAYLOAD is 0.0 KGS, correct too till now. With 2x 978 KGS remaining in the wings before refueling the GW should be 41.4 + 1.9 = 43.3 T. Once in the PERF INIT page, when pushing twice on the ZFW LSK, it should indicated 41.4 but, there’s a message in the scratcpad “ INVALID ENTRY: MIN=42.9!!! The min ZFW possible is 43.0!!! So Mark, from where comes this 1.6 T difference?

Have a good day
Daniel

The default weights are held in the weights table in the performance database.
I've just checked at the value in the table is actually the empty weight of the -900 instead of the -800.
I've amended it to 41.4 moving fwd.

Many thanks for clarification Mark, with the ZFW of the 900 the V1/VR/V2 wasn't correct for the 800, same for the trim setting, there was a difference with TOPCAT calculations. Hope this will match after amendment.

Have a very nice day.

But in reality it's pretty unlikely that you'd be flying at min ZFW.
I would think that most flights would be trying to utilize the aircraft with passengers and/or cargo.

Yes of course, except to perform touch & go in airline company, very important to improve young pilots landing technique with a TRI (Training CPT), in this case we have only on board between 2 and 6 pilots and the fuel required, just the pilots luggage, no cargo at all. A friend of me is a Ryanair young pilot, for exemple during his training, they took off Dublin to perform 6 touch & go each of them (they were 6 on board) in Shanon and then back in Dublin.

Good evening Mark

The FMC will request data from Topcat based on Topcat's default 737-800 and 777-200LR.

Mark are these dow (dry operating weight) and pax important for performance because i have differents values between first and dual class.

1st class : DOW -> 39263 with 189 pax
Dual class : DOW -> 38877 with 150 pax

Hello Everybody

I can't use vnav yet with topcat.

If i upload from topcat the payload, i have right informations on cdu but unable to activate vnav after airborne due to wrong perf navdata message on cdu.

If i forced to request and accept on perf page, it changes the payload and fl, i have to enter the right fl on flight not so good.

Does somebody have same situation or do i make mistake?.

I need more explaination because it's not very clear for me.

I appreciate your return.

Many thanks

Emmanuel

If you are receiving a PERF Uplink, this must come from a downloaded SimBrief flight plan.
These contain the ZFW information you enter whilst creating the plan.

When you load the flight plan the ZFW (and fuel qty) is read and automatically loaded into P3D.
Your aircraft now has the ZFW and fuel qty from the Simbrief plan.

The PERF Uplink will also contain this info.

You should create TopCat info based on this ZFW/GW.

If you don't want the Sim-Brief ZFW and fuel qty to be automatically loaded you can disable this option on the Server > Aircraft Details 2 tab.
"Auto Fuel and ZFW Load"

Mark,
actually I also had a clarification about this:
is the aircraft also automatically refueled to the simbrief plan or is it just the fuel quantity for the FMC to compute various takeoff performance etc..
I am asking because I still see sometimes the tanks empty after loading a simbrief plans and I need to actually 'manually' refuel the plane via CDU or dispatcher utility.
I am sure I am overlooking something here...

Thanks,
Andrea
