Turn slip indicator

Post by dajetking777 »

I notice the turn slip indicator is not displaying correctly while flying on the Ftlc page of the lower eicas screen.

When making a turn, the ball usually stays in the center but on occasion when the turn is not coordinated, the ball will slip left or right. To get the ball back in the center you "step on the ball" - either left or right rudder input. When I step on the ball, the ball moves further away from center. Thoughts ??

Hi Doug

Check your Rudder axis assignment, maybe it is reversed ?

Cheers

Are you operating in normal law (PFC auto, TAC auto)?
If you have FBW checked in the server the fly-by-wire system should take care of uncoordinated turns even when manually flying.
It is very rare to have to step-on-the-ball on 777 flying in normal law.

Looking at the outside of the Aircraft, The rudder moves in the correct direction based on which pedal is pushed - all good.

The Lower eicas directional deflection shows correctly but when I try to get the ball centered, the ball will go further away from the center when the appropriate pedal is pushed - I decided to check all boxes -
FBW & show FBW Issue on speed indicator, PFC and TAC, in the server. Things are fine but if I go back to manual, the above situation returns.

Thanks for the suggestions. !!
