Hi Everyone,

Well, I just put the finishing touches on the Flightdeck Solutions to X-Plane11 installation booklet.

If there are any updates, I'll let you know right here FDS.

Here is the link to the booklet.

Booklet updated to 1.0.2. I added a link to the jetmaxtq script (for those using a jetmax throttle quad) and cleared up a few items.

I'm in the process of adding information for getting the external lights working throughout the network.

I have two trying out the instructions, looks like it's good up to step 10 now. I just had to clear up the zibo 737ng install and provide an example.

Thank you Michael. I know there was a ton of long, hard work that went into this.

Hi George,

Yeah, it took a bit of work to put it all together. I just hope it helps others looking to make the jump to X-Plane.

I know of two so far that made the switch and didn't need any outside help from me.

The last items to place in the booklet would be for outside gauges like Flight Illusions and what-not. Since I don't have any of these gauges, I'm hoping someone who is all setup within Xplane11 can send me the details on how it was done so I can include them in the manual.

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on the installation instructions for setting up weather radar. I hope to have that online later today.

Hi Everyone,

The booklet has been updated to include adding weather radar over a network as well as exterior lighting.

Also included some trouble shooting tips for those that don't have a full flight deck and are having switch/indicator issues.

Hi Everyone,

All that is missing from the booklet (minus any remaining errors) are the installation of Flight illusion gauges.

I don't have/own any of these gauges so there is no way for me to figure out how they install. I do know they work because I know a couple of users that use F/I hardware.

If get my hands on this info, I'll add it to the booklet.

For those looking to make the jump, I hope you find this helpful.

On behalf of the forum, I want to say THANK YOU Michael for taking the time to write and keep the guide updated. It means a lot for us looking to make the transition but lack the experience to do so without loads of trial and error.

Thanks! I just hope I made it clear enough for everyone to figure out without needing a ton of help.

For me the CDUclient.jar is only showing as a winrar zipped file and not a java exe like pictured in the directions. I have downloaded and installed the java 64 and still nothing. Any ideas?

Hi,

If you installed the 64 bit version of JAVA and have the CDUClient.jar in a folder of your choice, you're all set to get it working.

Step 8 and 9 in the booklet shows the following for installation:

Step 8: Install CDU’s onto the computer of your choice. The CDU’s DO NOT have to be on your X-Plane’s server computer.

“The USB’s MUST Be Plugged Into The server Computer - The Video Cables Plug Into The Client Computers” If you have a Captains and First Officers CDU, you’ll have to create two folders. One for the Captain and one for the F/O.

Example: C:\Captain CDU Example: C:\First Officer CDU

I believe you finished what is above. All that should be left for you is what is shown below.

Now copy the CDUClient.jar into both folders.

——————————————————

Step 9: Creating a file called CDUClient.properties

Run “CDUClient.jar” and press F12 while in the CDU client window, it will create a file called “CDUClient.properties”. You should have a copy of this file in both (if you have two CDUs) CDU folders when you’re done.

The receive port for the Captain is 49030 “Do Not Change This”
The receive port for the First Officer is 49031 “Only If Installed”

Step 9A: On Your X-Plane Server Computer Inside X-Plane

Go to the sub folder Output\Preferences and edit the file called FDStoXP.prf. Change the IP Address to your networked IP Address. If you’re not on a network, leave it at 127.0.0.1.

If you need any more help, just let me know.

Is this a guide to connect any of the FDS hardware to X-Plane? Including the new Max DST?
